Solar Panel Cleaning in Lake Travis
A solar array in Lake Travis spends its life under cedar pollen and limestone dust, and every layer of that is output you paid for and are not getting. Here is what cleaning does and does not do.

Why panels lose output
Dust and pollen scatter light before it reaches the cell. The loss is gradual, so nobody notices until they compare a month to the same month last year. Bird mess is worse, because it blocks a cell completely and the array works around it.

What's included
- Pure water washing of all exterior glass
- Detailing of edges and corners so no drips are left behind
- Wiping of exterior frames and sills
- Ladder and extension pole work for second-story and high windows
- Treatment of light hard water spots where the glass allows it
How panels are cleaned
Pure water and a soft brush on a pole, from the ground or from a ladder at the eaves. No detergent, which can leave a film that attracts more dust, and no pressure, which can force water past the seals.
What Lake Travis glass is up against
Lake-facing walls of glass are the whole reason these houses were built the way they were. They are also the first to cloud over, because wind off the water carries limestone dust and spray straight onto the pane and it dries there.
- Limestone dust
- Caliche and limestone dust blows up off the shoreline and unsealed drives, then sets hard on glass after the first dew.
- Two-storey lake elevations
- The best windows are usually the hardest to reach. We carry poles and ladders for both, and we do not walk on tile roofs.
What we will not do
We do not walk on roofs, and we do not touch wiring, inverters or mounting. If an array can only be reached by walking the roof, that is a job for a solar contractor, not us.
Working in Lake Travis
Almost every job we do sits within a few miles of the water. Lakefront homes are built to face the view, so the glass is large, often two storeys, and usually on the windy side of the house. We know which streets need a pole and which need a ladder, and we plan the route so the lake side gets done before the afternoon wind picks the dust back up.
What it costs
We do not price Lake Travis work from a table. We look at the property, count the glass, check the access, then give you a written price with no obligation. Your card is charged after the work is done, not before.

Solar Panel Cleaning in Lake Travis — common questions
Does cleaning solar panels actually improve output?
Yes, where dust, pollen or bird mess has built up. The dirtier the array, the bigger the difference.
How often should panels be cleaned?
Once or twice a year suits most arrays here, more after a heavy cedar season.
Do you use chemicals?
No. Pure water and a soft brush. Detergent leaves a film that collects more dust.
Will you walk on my roof to reach them?
No. We work from the ground or a ladder at the eaves. If that will not reach, we will say so.
Do you touch the wiring or inverter?
No. We clean the glass surface only. Anything electrical is for your solar contractor.
Do you cover my street in Lake Travis?
We work across Lake Travis regularly, including Apache Shores, Point Venture, Volente and the surrounding streets. Call or text (512) 200-2160 with your address and we will confirm straight away.
